Coastal Scents Brush Review

Image
Hi welcome to Its About Makeup Time with your girl L_lish here!!!!! I have been thinking... What if I change my review style? Sometimes it might be hard to understand the thoughts that I have written... I know! I am going to start reviewing in a category style!!!!! YAY!!!! The first review in this style will be about my favorite brushes by Coastal Scents. Picture from Coastalscents.com Texture These brushes feel amazing! To give you a feel of what I'm talking about they feel like human hair after its been washed. Do you get it?  Smell There is a slight smell in the brushes when they are brand new. Just was them, it will go away! After Wash After I washed these brushes for the first time and actually used them I did experience a little shedding in the powder brush. This was just because of washing it though because after that first wash there was no more shedding. The 12 Piece set comes with 4 face brushes, but I don't use the concealer brush for con

Olay Pro X Advanced Cleansing System Limited edition Pink!!!!

Image
Hi, long time no see. Welcome back to Its About Makeup Time with your girl L_lish here!!!!! Today I have two reviews the first one ,which is this one, is about the Olay Pro X Advanced Cleansing System in Limited edition Pink. I originally had the regular cleansing system from Olay on my Christmas/Wish List. I have to say, I made a pretty good pick here. The price of this system is reasonably good considering it is suppose to be a dupe for the Clarisonic. I found my System at Walmart for about $30 but you may also find it at Target.    This is the box of the system.      First of all, let's just talk about this cute packaging! I love pink and this is pink. I don't know exactly how long this color will be available, but if you like pink you might want to get your hands on it. Olay claims that this system cleanses 6 times better than regular cleaning. This is true for me, but it does not maximize the moisturizing effects of my moisturizer( Clean and Clear Dual Action

Cream Shadow Showdown with Bonus Bases.... Finally

Image
Welcome back to Its About Makeup Time with ya girl L_lish here and today will be the last post of Cream Shadow Showdown with Bonus Bases. In this post I will be announcing the winner of the Showdown. I will have a winner for high-end, high-end runner up, low-end, and low-end runner up. High-End Winner The best High-end Base/Cream Shadow goes to MAC's Painterly Paint Pot. This is the most versatile Cream Shadow because it can also be a base or primer. High-End Runner Up Of course I only have two High-end items but this would still be my runner up. I like the Too Faced Shadow Insurance because it primes my eyes while giving me a matte finish too them. Even though I have tried Urban Decay's Primer Potion, I still don't say it beats this primer. Low-End Winner Of course you might have guessed it.... Okay maybe you didn't, but the Revlon Illuminance Cream Shadow Quad won for low-end I like this quad because again you can use it a  base and primer. You also

Revlon Illuminance Cream Shadow Quads

Hi and welcome to Its About Makeup Time with your girl L_lish here. Today I have the last post for Cream Shadow Showdown with Bonus Bases :(  The last, but not the least cream shadow I am reviewing in this series is the Revlon Illuminance Cream Shadow Quad in Not Just Nudes. Ok I am going to be real with y'all, I love this quad. I think I like these cream shadows better that the Maybelline Color Tattoos. These eyeshadows are creamier and more pigmented. They range for about $4-$5, which is not bad for four cream eyeshadows! I have hit pan on the matte brown shade....…Sorry.  The colors in this quad are very versatile. I have used them and bases and shadows. One look I love involves the second shade(all over lid) and the darkest shade(in the crease). The lightest shade in this quad is a very light nude with minimum=m shimmer.  The second shadow is a medium shadow with chunkier glitter than the first one. The third one is the only matte. It is perfect for a matte warm lo

Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturizer

Image
Hi and welcome to Its About Makeup Time with ya girl L_lish here!!!!!!!!!!!! Today I will be reviewing one of my go-to face products. I use this product every night after I wash my face. It is the Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturizer!!!! I love this product. It has salicylic acid in it which means it is perfect for preventing and treating pimples.  If you have dry skin, this is a must. I was really skeptical about getting this product, but I am glad I chose to get it. The Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturizer retails for about $6 to $7. After I was my face( Clinique Liquid Facial Soap in Mild) I apply a genorous amount of this (one pump and a half). The aftermath of this product is amazing. Once you smooth it out on the face it generate a clean and fresh sensation! I also love the packaging of this product. The sleek and small bottle is great for traveling. The pump also locks to prevent spills.Thats it until next time..... XOXO, L_lish

NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk

Image
Hi and welcome to Its About Makeup Time with your girl L_lish here!!!!!! Today I am doing another Cream Shadow Showdown with Bonus Bases and it's a review on the NYX Jumbo pencils.......YAY. So, one day while at my local beauty store, I saw these pencils. They were $3.99 and my beauty store only had neutral colors so I thought they were perfect for bases. Turns out I was right! These Jumbo Pencils were great bases. They only two I have are Milk and Pots and Pans. Milk is the only one I am reviewing though because Pots and Pans got de-potted and destroyed by a girl who loves trying out new things :|                                                     I love using this because: 1. It makes my eyeshadows POP. 2. It last a long time. 3. It has no creasing unless you are heavy with application. 4. I can use it also as a stand-alone eyeshadow. If you love creamy and stand-alone bases definately go with these jumbo pencils. You will not regret it Check out my fav

Quick Tip #1 Keeping Your Creams Creamy

Everyone knows that when you have a cream eyeshadow,  the shelving life is pretty short. To keep your bases and creams moist store them upside so the moisture will be at the top everytime you use it. see:all my bases are upside down :)

NYX Eyeshadow Base

Image
Hi and welcome to Its About Makeup Time with me, L_lish. Today I have another Cream Shadow Showdown with Bonus Bases post. Before I knew about makeup I was searching for a good eyeshadow base and I stubbled across the NYX one. I found mine at my local beauty supply store, but they are also sold at Ulta for about $6. The color I have is Skin Tone. It is a creamy matte nude. It reminds me alot like MAC's Painterly Paint Pot. The only difference is the price. The NYX Eyeshadow Base in Skin Tone is the perfect primer or base for any type of shadows, it even made my dollar store shadows pop. On the package, the base is suppose to hold, intensify, and last longer on your lids. I have to say this is fairly true. This base does not last as long as MAC's Paintpot, but is last just as good. I have had this product for about 7 months now and I has yet to show any signs of drying out. If you want a MAC Paint Pot,but cannot afford it I recommend buying this product.

Maybelline Dream Matte Powder

Image
Hi and welcome to Its About Makeup Time. Today I have a product review for you guys!! So, I have recently got into using face products and I wanted a company in the drugstore that I can trust regularly to put on my face. I am really hesitant about putting products on my cheeks and forehead because they are really sensitive. I researched a lot of products, but there was nothing that caught my eye. I finally narrowed my research down to my favorite drugstore eyeshadow company (Maybelline). They had the Dream Matte Powder and I wanted to try it out. I currently use the Dream Fresh BB Cream from Maybelline and it gives an oily looking glow. I looked like I just got done playing Basketball! So I put my Dream Matte Powder on and BOOM, like magic oiliness was gone.  This powder is so soft and it is milled perfectly. The color I decided to pick up was Sand which is Medium 0-1.  I chose a color lighter than my skin tone because gives a highlighted effect. This powder is oil free (a li

Maybelline Color Tattoos!!!

Image
Hi and welcome back to Its About Makeup Time with your girl L_lish. Today, I am doing part two of Cream Shadow Showdown with Bonus Bases. The next base I am talking about is the Maybelline Color Tattoos. Many people compare these bases with MAC Paint Pots. To me, the Maybelline Color Tattoos would beat MAC Paint Pots if they were creamier and more controllable. I have two neutral colors of the Color Tattoos: Barely Branded and Bad To The Bronze. Barely Branded is a light pale nude with tons of shimmer in it because it is in the Metal line. bad To The Bronze is a bronzed brown color with a little glitter in it. I tend to use Barely Branded more because it matches my skin tone more and I can wear it alone as a shimmery nude. Here is a comparison to the MAC Paint Pots. MAC Painterly Paint Pot                                                                                                           $18.50   Creamier    Skin toned colors variety   MAC counters/stores

MAC Painterly Paint Pot

Image
Hi and welcome to Its About Makeup Time and today I am reviewing the MAC Painterly Paint Pot. This is the first Cream Shadow Showdown and Bonus Bases Post. Many people say that this can be a primer and a base. I absolutely agree with this statement. I have tried many primers and bases, but this Paint Pot made me look no more!  Once swatched this eyeshadow cream is a pale neutral with pink undertones. This cream base can blend in with pretty much any skin tone. There is one thing you have to remember though, once you put this on its hard to take off. I don't think this cream base is waterproof but it acts like it is. This product retails at MAC for $18.50 which is pretty good for it being "high end". I brought mine at Nordstrom (an amazingly huge department store) and the MAC selection was spectacular!!!!     Overall this eyeshadow base is GREAT. I give it a 10/10... The packaging of it is also sleek and simple. It is a glass jar with a matte/ sheen looking to

Cream Shadow Showdown!!! With Bonus Bases...

Image
Hi and welcome to Its About Makeup Time throughout this week I will be doing a series of post called Cream Shadow Showdown With Bonus Bases. Basically in this tongue twisting series I will be reviewing and comparing different cream eyeshadows and bases. I love cream eyeshadows. They are so fun to experiment with!  I put a base under ALL cream eyeshadows. No matter what brand it is it is getting a base under it. Here is a picture of our starting lineup........
